Kazakhstan intelligence chief sacked, arrested and charged with treason

It turns out, the protests in Kazakhstan over the last few days were an elaborate plot against President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, an operation to make Kazakhstan Islamic.

The latest news is that the head of the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan, essentially the intelligence and counter-terrorism chief of the nation, Karim Massimov, has not only been sacked but also arrested and charged with treason (ref. 1).

The president suspected something was going on when word reached him that security forces had been ordered to abandon Almaty airport one hour before it was overrun by armed rioters (ref. 1, 2).

The National Security Committee of Kazakhstan has also been accused of “betrayal” for covering up Islamic militant training camps in the mountains (ref. 2).

The fact that some of the protesters were armed with guns, and were firing at police, is yet another indication that this was no ordinary protest. Generally, Kazakhs can own hunting rifles but only after obtaining a police permit.

Furthermore, Kazakh media reported that among the protesters were “outside agitators” who incited the crowds with Islamist slogans and pan-Turkic rhetoric (ref. 2).

Karim Massimov, the ex-intelligence chief, is an ethnic Uighur. He is essentially of Turkish origin.

Massimov was appointed head of the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan in 2016. Wikipedia has a photo of him shaking the hand of America’s Mike Pompeo on 26 April 2019. Pompeo was Director of the CIA between 2017 and 2018. In 2019, Pompeo was no longer officially in intelligence but had become US Secretary of State. In that role, his counterpart would have been someone from Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This armed attempted coup that involves foreigners, or even foreign agents, combined with the fact that three Kazakh policemen have been beheaded explains the president of Kazakhstan’s “shoot to kill” order (ref. 3, 4).

It is also interesting that a war of words between America and Russia has erupted over what is happening in Kazakhstan (ref. 5). What has Kazakhstan’s invocation of article 4 of the CSTO treaty to do with America at all? If this were not a CIA thing, why would America care at all?

This failed attempt to Islamise Kazakhstan means that Kazakhstan will now surely not embrace the fourth beast.

Kazakhstan, the land north-east of the Caspian sea, was never within the boundary of Alexander the great’s empire. Therefore, Kazakhstan was not to be one of the heads of the fourth beast.
