Showdown between the Trump administration and a US District Court Judge over Kilmar Abrego Garcia: Is Trump "the man of lawlessness"?

16 April 2025

The Trump administration mistakenly deported one Kilmar Abrego Garcia to El Salvador on 15 March, to be locked up in a mega-prison over there without trial. Garcia, who was originally an illegal immigrant, was granted legal status in 2019, and he has since married an American citizen, and he now has an American born child. The Trump administration admits that "an administrative error" led to his deportation, but maintains that he is an MS-13 gangster and a criminal, though no due process was afforded to him and no evidence was provided by the government to support their accusation (ref. 1). His wife filed a lawsuit on 24 March, calling for his return to the USA. She says, he is not an MS-13 gang member and he has not been charged or convicted of committing any crimes, neither in the USA nor in El Salvador (ref. 1). Despite acknowledging the clerical mistake, the Trump administration refuses to repatriate Garcia.

Judge Paula Xinis of a US District Court ruled that the US government must facilitate and effectuate Garcia's return to the USA. Last week, the matter was appealed, but the US Supreme Court in a unanimous decision upheld Xinis's order. Today, the same District Court instructed the Trump administration to provide details over the next two weeks of the steps that it is taking to bring Garcia back. If the Trump administration refuses, then the judge says she will consider holding certain officials in contempt of court (ref. 2).

So far, Trump has refused to back down, so a showdown looms.

Legal experts say, a court cannot hold a sitting president in contempt, but may charge his officials with something such as civil contempt (ref. 3). A charge of criminal contempt, however, would probably be overruled or pardoned by the president. A president might also direct US marshals to ignore an order from the court to arrest any official.

In the event that a contempt ruling does occur but is ignored, then America's court system has effectively become powerless. If and when this happens, Donald Trump's power over America will be absolute. In America, he will be beholden to none, and it will be as if he is no longer the elected president of a republic but the dictator and tyrant of the nation.

It is very interesting that in 2 Thessalonians 2:8, there is a figure at the time of the end described as "that Wicked", "whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders." This has to be Donald Trump, because the bullet a few months ago that appeared to miraculously miss his head gave him sympathy and enough votes to secure the US presidency. In my view, that so-called assassination attempt was actually a false flag orchestrated by demons, ie. a "lying wonder" from Satan!

And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

2 Thessalonians 2:8-9

Contrary to what some pastors say, this figure in 2 Thessalonians 2 is not the Antichrist. The Antichrist would be "the Assyrian" from Nineveh Iraq, whose name must equate in gematria to the number 666. Rather, this man in 2 Thessalonians 2 is the prophesied "king of Babylon", whom in the final 42 months will bow to the Antichrist.

Now, in the NIV Bible, as well as in some other modern translations, but not in the KJV Bible, the phrase "that Wicked" oddly enough reads "the lawless one".

And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming. The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie,

2 Thessalonians 2:8-9, NIV

I myself prefer the KJV's translation. Nevertheless I think it is interesting that the king of Babylon is sometimes described as "the lawless one".

Not only that. The famous "man of sin" and "son of perdition" verse in the KJV, 2 Thessalonians 2:3, reads in the NIV as, wait for it, "the man of lawlessness".

Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

2 Thessalonians 2:1-3

Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters, not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us - whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter - asserting that the day of the Lord has already come. Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction.

2 Thessalonians 2:1-3, NIV

Again, this is interesting because Donald Trump is now making headlines as an American president that is willing to challenge America's courts, laws and even the US Constitution. There has not been anyone like him. It is fair to say that Trump sees himself above the law, even a law unto himself.
