Described as “the largest Satanic gathering in history”, SatanCon 2023, last week’s convention of the American chapter of the Satanic Temple, saw brazen blasphemy against God, various rituals including one called an un-baptism, costumes of beasts with horns, the trope of Lucifer’s all-seeing-eye, pentagrams, an attendee wearing a jersey emblazoned 666, cross-dressing, LGBTQ types, tattoos, piercings, the Devil’s horns hand sign, and even a mitre hat, an allusion to the papacy (ref. 1, 2). The convention took place in Boston USA, the origin of 1776.
Though some suggested that SatanCon was about taking an atheistic stance against religion, specifically Christianity, others revealed that the theme of the convention was “Hexennacht”, German for “Witches Night”, which occurs on 30 April.
What is most telling about SatanCon, though, was its opening ceremony. Here, a woman stood on stage and proceeded to tear apart a Bible to the cheers of the crowd and cries of “Hail Satan”, all the while fake paper money fell out of its pages.
Two things were being said here.
One is that of all things what true Satanists despise the most is a faithfully translated Christian Bible, the true words of God.
The Bible explains, the Word of God is Jesus Christ, because Jesus Christ is one with the Father and the Holy Ghost, and all scripture is given by inspiration of God (ref. 2 Timothy 3:16).
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:1
And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
Revelation 19:13
Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
Mark 13:31
To be against the Christ is to be “antichrist” (ref. 1 John 4:3, 1 John 2:22).
And to be opposed to God, or to be an adversary of God, is to be a Satanist, for the Hebrew word “Satan” means “the adversary” (ref. Revelation 12:9).
Now, in essence, the word of God is also a sword, a weapon that is wielded against Satan.
Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

This is another reason why Satanists despise the Bible so much.
So, SatanCon was making it known by its opening ceremony that it was indeed a gathering of actual Satanists, some of whom communicate with demons.
The next thing that was being said – the fake paper money falling out of the Bible – has to do with Satan’s usurping of Christendom.
It is Bible prophecy that in these last days, there will be a falling away, an apostasy (ref. 2 Thessalonians 2:3).
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
2 Timothy 4:3-4
There is an apostasy from the truth because at this time of the end there is an overwhelming number of demons roaming about (ref. Revelation 12:9), especially in Babylon (ref. Revelation 18:2).
And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
Revelation 18:2
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
1 Timothy 4:1
The Bible also describes the fall of Christendom as treachery (ref. Isaiah 24:16) on the part of priests and pastors (ref. Isaiah 24:2).
The primary means by which Satan has taken many a church is money. The so-called prosperity gospel, for instance.
… some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and waxen rich.

This gloating by Satanists is not new. It is also in the demon-inspired Bob Dylan song, All Along the Watchtower:
“There’s too much confusion
I can’t get no relief
Businessmen, they drink my wine
Plowmen dig my earth
None of them along the line
Know what any of it is worth”
In his cover, Jimi Hendrix, put it slightly differently, but made the same point:
“There’s too much confusion
I can’t get no relief
Business men, they drink my wine
Plowmen dig my earth
None will level on the line
Nobody offered his word”
In these last days, Babylon is the city of “confusion” (ref. Isaiah 24:10).
In Zechariah 5, the curse that shall afflict “the thief” and “him that sweareth falsely” by God’s name concerns these treacherous sorts. These Christians that lead churches are no different from the Pharisees of old.
I will bring it forth, saith the LORD of hosts, and it shall enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of him that sweareth falsely by my name: and it shall remain in the midst of the house, and shall consume it with the timber thereof and the stones thereof.
Zechariah 5:4
Woe to the idol shepherd that leaveth the flock! the sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened.

Now, after the woman vented her anger against the Bible, a fellow Satanist took the stage, and he did what reporters described as the most bizarre thing ever (ref. 2). He grabbed a hammer and held up a keyboard, and then he proceeded to smash the keyboard into pieces with the hammer.
This begs the question, why a keyboard?
First of all, America has given world two remarkable things: the computer and the Internet.
The Bible prophesies in Daniel that the last days will be a time when knowledge shall be increased.
But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
Daniel 12:4
Of course, knowledge has increased across the world in these last few years primarily because of the Internet. Websites and digital books provide information quicker and more conveniently than libraries and public speaking events.
To be sure, there is much misinformation and many lies on the Internet, but the Internet can also be used to spread information and truth.
At the time of the apostles, the gospel had to be preached in person. Hence, the saying, how beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel.
How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
Romans 10:14-15
Today, the same information can be spread worldwide over the Internet.
When the two witnesses arrive and begin their testimony in Jerusalem, the entire world will be able to watch and listen thanks to the Internet and the technology of digital video.
In this way the gospel of the kingdom of God will reach all the world.
And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Now, you might be wondering why the man at SatanCon did not smash a video camera and a microphone instead. After all, today is the era of Youtube and TikTok.
He smashed up a keyboard, because the two witnesses, described also as the “two candlesticks” (ref. Revelation 11:4), are not yet here, and so for the time being, what angers all they who are on Satan’s side is someone who happens to be typing out ideas on a website, and consequently more often than not shinning some light at this time of incredible and almost utter darkness.
For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people…
