In Valencia Spain, a year’s amount of rain fell in just 8 hours, causing a devastating tsunami-like flood

A few days ago, in the province of Valencia Spain, a sudden deluge of rain caused a tremendous flash flood that lifted up cars and other debris, and piled them up on the streets in surreal scenes. Over 205 were killed, some trapped in underground car parks and others swept away by the rushing waters before they could get to higher ground (ref. 1). This has been Spain’s deadliest disaster in decades. In some houses, the water burst through the door and went up all the way to the ceiling.

In the town of Valencia called “Chiva”, which is Spanish for goat and also Spanish slang for heroin, a year’s amount of rain fell in just 8 hours (ref. 2). The rain water ran down the hill and swamped the streets below much like a tsunami.

I am not sure what to say about this, or exactly which Bible verses to highlight, but I suppose the goat thing brings to mind Satan and therefore Nahum 1.

The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies. What do ye imagine against the LORD? he will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time.

Nahum 1:7-9

In recent times, the government of Spain has been making pronouncements against Israel. In May this year, Spain formally declared their intention to recognise the state of Palestine (ref. 3). More recently, Spain has cut off the sale of weapons and ammunition to Israel, and has encouraged other countries to do the same (ref. 4).

Besides that, in the past, Valencia was largely Islamic for some 5 centuries. The Moors first conquered the area in 718 AD. It saw several crusades involving various Christian military orders including spiritually treacherous ones such as the Knights Templar. And then, I suppose, during the Reconquista, it was finally made Spanish again. Valencia was also significant in regard to the Spanish Inquisition, a Catholic phenomenon that was suppose to stamp out heresy but lost the plot at some point and started to persecute Jews in general as well.

So, I guess, there is something not right about this part of Spain. Whether Islam and its heritage are to blame, or whether the Templars and thus Freemasonry is the reason for it, or whether it comes down to the historical excesses and injustices of the Spanish Inquisition is anybody’s guess.

This event also reminds just how fragile human life is, and how easily a person and even an entire town can be brought to ruin.

All nations before him are as nothing; and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity. To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him? … Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth? It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in: That bringeth the princes to nothing; he maketh the judges of the earth as vanity… To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One. Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth. Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is passed over from my God? Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

Isaiah 40:17-28

Not only humans, but also angels and even saints are actually minuscule when compared to God: all can be squished.

Also, by “God”, this verse means, “the Holy One” of Israel, namely Jesus Christ, the Creator. God the Father is even more powerful.

The takeaway of Nahum 1:7-9, the verse with the words “overrunning flood”, is stand with the LORD rather than with they that are against him.

In these last days, there will be one from Nineveh that will imagine evil against the LORD and the people of the LORD (ref. Nahum 1:11). This man is the Antichrist.
