American Catholic Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano recently described the head of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis, as “an abomination of desolation” (ref. 1), and furthermore he said, all in the Vatican that are loyal to this pope are “servants of Satan” (ref. 1). This comes after the pope issued a formal papal document, Fiducia supplicans, that insists that Catholic priests can bless homosexual couples.
Weeks ago, the same archbishop described the pope as an “apostate” and “a false prophet” (ref. 2).
The expressions “abomination of desolation” and “false prophet” are apocalyptic, a crucial end time matter for both Christians and Jews.
When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judaea [Jews in Israel] flee into the mountains [the Negev]
Matthew 24:15-16
So, here, I have to say something.
First of all, the pope’s move to bless homosexual couples proves once and for all that he is not remotely Christian.
If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
Leviticus 20:13
This pope has always been on the side of Satan, because foremost he is a Jesuit. In the past, the Jesuits were essentially the Vatican’s spies and assassins. The 1586 plot to assassinate Elizabeth I involved Jesuits. The Guy Fawkes gunpowder plot of 1605, which would have blown up the entire British Parliament and killed James I, and which might have prevented the KJV 1611, also involved Jesuits. The Jesuits even pretended to be Protestant preachers in pulpits so that they could undermine the Reformation via a 5th column. This is how the Anglican Church came be meaningless.
Besides being a Jesuit, this pope has been photographed with his right hand inside his jacket, the occult sign of a Freemason.
It is actually quite fitting for these last days that Pope Francis is the world’s first ever Jesuit pope. It confirms that the apostasy of the Catholic Church is now complete.
Pope Francis also happens to be anti-Israel and against the war in Gaza. Remember, Jesus Christ, the one who opens the 7 seals of Revelation, is for war in these last days (ref. Revelation 19:11, Isaiah 42:13-14).
The LORD shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: he shall cry, yea, roar; he shall prevail against his enemies. I have long time holden my peace; I have been still, and refrained myself: now… I will destroy and devour at once.

What is more, ever since 7 October, this pope has repeatedly accused Israel of “terrorism” (ref. 3), as if to equate the IDF to Islamic terrorists. Often, this pope is for the Palestinians of Gaza, yet the word of God is that, ultimately when the angels and the saints of God get involve, Gaza is to be completely cleared and taken (ref. Zephaniah 2:5). So, even if the IDF grants mercy now, and there is evidence that the IDF is trying to be careful, there will be no mercy later. This is the will of God.
Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Cherethites! the word of the LORD is against you; O Canaan, the land of the Philistines, I will even destroy thee, that there shall be no inhabitant… And the coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah…

So, is this pope “a servant of Satan”? The answer must be yes.
Is he a “usurper of the throne of Peter”? Well, I am not sure that there is such a throne.
Regardless, the Catholic Church was lost to the enemy a long time ago. Take the obelisk at St. Peter’s Square, erected 1586 AD. That idol made from stone is a monument to an Egyptian god, one of the angels in rebellion against God. Basically, it is the same as the occult obelisk that is Washington Monument. Even if the obelisk of St. Peter’s Square of 1586 AD was meant to remind of the Circus of Nero and the reputed site of Peter’s execution, why not replace it with some other non-occult marker? Why make the obelisk the centerpiece of St. Peter’s Square?
Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God.
Leviticus 26:1
Not only did Catholicism corrupt Jerome’s Latin Vulgate, which constitutes blasphemy against the Holy Ghost (ref. Matthew 12:31-32), and which made the Protestant Reformation necessary, but the official eschatology of Catholicism is amillennialism.
The false theology of amillennialists is Augustine’s fault. It supposes that the 1000 year reign of Christ is symbolic rather than literal, and that Jesus is already ruling the world as the King of kings through the Holy Spirit. This explains why Catholic priests assume the title “Father”, despite what the Bible says.
And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.
Matthew 23:9-10
A Catholic priest actually believes that after the ritual of his ordination, the Holy Spirit indwells him, and so in effect he represents God and he is in a position to bless whomever he or the Vatican chooses. In fact, Catholic priests have no divine power at all. Neither do bishops, archbishops and cardinals. Nor do popes.
Amillennialism also imagines that the church has replaced Israel, since it insists that the kingdom of God is already here. Any Protestant that misunderstands the “new covenant” (ref. Hebrews 8:8, Jeremiah 31:31) and the meaning of “Israel” makes this same mistake.
The truth of the matter is, after the day of the LORD, it is Israel that will replace the church. To be precise, human Jews shall be “Priests of the LORD”, and thus “eat” the riches of the “Gentiles”, meaning they will receive the tithe of non Jews.
… ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.
Isaiah 61:6
This is the “new covenant” that God will make with “the house of Israel” and with “the house of Judah”.
… Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people
Hebrews 8:8-10
Now, despite its contrived doctrines of transubstantiation, indulgence, confession, infant baptism, and so on, what the Catholic Church has managed to do all these years through the ceremony of the Eucharist is to keep alive the memory of the Son of man Jesus Christ.
And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
Luke 22:19
It is also a good thing that Vatican II, 1962-65, required the homily of a mass to be delivered thereafter in the vernacular so that congregants can understand what is being said.
So, there should be Catholics who will pass the tribulation of these last days. Much depends on the local priest who leads his congregation. To the extent that a priest is still preaching something out of the Bible, he is doing something useful.
Nevertheless, I think, no one should give the Catholic Church any more money. The Vatican has billions sloshing about in bank accounts, much of which is mixed up with the likes of the Italian Mafia. Turns out, even the charity of Mother Theresa was a farce in that she collected in excess of $100 million per year in the name of God and supposedly for the sake of charity, but only distributed a tiny fraction to the poor. Most of the donations to her charity ended up in the Vatican.
And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.
Matthew 21:12-13
There is also the matter of Catholic nuns who consume tithe money in convents while doing almost nothing except praying repetitively to keep souls out of an imagined purgatory or something along those lines. What a waste of money and time.
But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
Matthew 6:7
In these last days, it is better to keep your money for yourself to survive the unfolding cost of living crisis, or else to donate to a Protestant food bank (ref. Matthew 25:42).
It is somewhat amusing to watch certain priests and bishops try to defend this indefensible pope. Of course, some of these individuals have forsaken God for Satan. But some others are trying to stand with their boss and hold on to that corporate ladder.
This is not dissimilar to Protestant pastors who choose to preach only things that are pleasing to the crowd. They must please their audience if they want to receive any financial offering, let alone grow in size.
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
2 Timothy 4:3-4
A lot of the Devil’s power comes down to money.
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Matthew 6:24
There is also the matter of pride. Many a Catholic priest and many a Protestant pastor cannot admit that he is ever mistaken on a subject. I suppose, he presumes that he is holy, and therefore infallible.
By the way, so much for the Catholic doctrine of the infallibility of the pope!
Concerning Bible prophecy, some things in the Bible are cryptic, deliberately sealed from the world until the appointed time (ref. Daniel 12:4). On the other side, Satan is subtle (ref. Genesis 3:1), always looking for a chance to deceive. So, the way to go about things is to change your opinion once you realise that something cannot be right. I myself have gotten things wrong occasionally. The truth must be one, comprehensive picture of the future. Every piece of the puzzle must fit perfectly into place, and it must all make sense. By contrast, deception involves inconsistencies, incoherence, illogic, and even outright nonsense. It should be easier to tell the truth than to spread a lie, yet deception is everywhere. What Satan is exploiting is the pride of preachers.
Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honour is humility.
Proverbs 18:12
Be careful. Those who collect tithe in the name of God only to help Satan, meaning those who “steal” from God and “swear falsely” by the name of God, will be punished in the end. This is the prophecy of Zechariah 5.
Now, to the abomination of desolation and the false prophet.
The abomination of desolation will happen after the temple of God has been set up. This is because “the holy place” or the “sanctuary of strength” is the temple of God, in Jerusalem, on the Temple Mount. It has nothing to do with the Vatican. I think, the temple of God will be a tabernacle of cloth like David’s, rather than a building of stone like Solomon’s. The “house” of God, prophesied in Ezekiel 40, will be constructed in Jerusalem during the Millennial Reign.
As for “the abomination”, that is probably a person, quite likely the false prophet himself. The false prophet will be a Satanist, yet he will claim to be a prophet of God. This explains the false in false prophet. This is why he will be an abomination.
And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
Revelation 13:11
The clue is the Greek conjugation of the word stand, “hestekota”, a masculine participle, signifying that it is a “he” that will stand in the holy place, rather than an it.
But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing [hestekota] where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:
Mark 13:14
The false prophet is the prophesied “man of sin”, because someone such as the Assyrian, who is a Muslim, strictly speaking, cannot sin against Jesus Christ (ref. Romans 5:13). Furthermore, the expression “the son of perdition”, which is appositive to the man of sin, is also used to describe Judas, another Satanist that pretended to be Christian.
Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
2 Thessalonians 2:3-4
It is possible that the abomination of desolation is an idol, such as a graven or a molten image that represents Satan or the beast “ISIS”. In this case, the he would be Satan himself, and 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4, a prophecy of the false prophet entering into the temple of God, would happen some other time.
Cursed be the man that maketh any graven or molten image, an abomination unto the LORD, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and putteth it in a secret place…
Deuteronomy 27:15
The abomination might have to be an idol because the false prophet might not be physically on the Temple Mount at the start of the final 3.5 years.
Certainly, the Assyrian won’t be there at that time. The Assyrian will eventually control the Temple Mount (ref. Daniel 11:45) but not at the start. This is why Daniel 11:31 reads, “arms shall stand on his part”.
And arms shall stand on his [the Assyrian’s] part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.

So, either the false prophet enters into and stands in the temple of God, or else an idol of some kind, representing Satan or ISIS, is put in there. This is the abomination.
It is an abomination of desolation, or an abomination that will lead to desolation, because of the mark of the beast. In these last days, the false prophet of Mystery Babylon will effect the mark of the beast, and essentially compel many to worship Satan and the beast with the deadly wound which is ISIS (ref. Revelation 13:12). Consequently, in the end, God will annihilate Mystery Babylon and make her utterly desolate.
They come from a far country, from the end of heaven, even the LORD, and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land. Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.
Isaiah 13:5-6
The nuclear weapons used, including cobalt bombs, will mean thereafter “consummation” will be impossible. This is in Daniel 9:27.
… in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

So, the American Catholic archbishop might have meant well by reminding everyone that the current pope is evil, but his misuse of the apocalyptic expression “abomination of desolation” paired with “false prophet” is confusion (ref. Isaiah 24:10). The actual abomination of desolation will be a marker of the final 3.5 years. And the location of the false prophet of Revelation 13, the man with 2 horns like a lamb but speaks as a dragon, will be significant to the mark of the beast. These errors are not trivial. At stake is the salvation of souls.
